Check and set pressures before you set off, when tyres are cold. Driving heats the air inside and raises the reading, so a hot check will fool you into letting air out.
Use the pressures recommended for your van’s load, not the maximum printed on the sidewall. If you’re heading onto gravel or sand, lower pressures help, but reinflate before you’re back on bitumen.
Look for uneven wear on the inside or outside edges. That usually points to an alignment problem worth fixing before it costs you a set of tyres, or worse, a wheel on the side of the road.
